"Tribute to Dario Fo, Mistero Buffo and Commedia dell' Arte", presented by Marco Luly and Mario Pirovano, is a praise to the great Italian artist Dario Fo and his work. His world will be presented through a series of scenes taken from his most celebrated play "Mistero Buffo", together with some skits and "lazzi" taken from the traditional scenarios of Commedia dell' Arte. This form of theatre uses a great deal of movement and mime while language is not such an important factor, making this ideal for audiences who come from different languages and cultural backgrounds.
Mario Pirovano is an Italian theatrical actor, storyteller, translator and interpreter of Dario Fo’s monologs. His performances contribute to spreading the Fo’s art in the world. The long years spent as an apprentice and his unique relationship with the Master make Pirovano not only the most proven interpreter of Dario Fo's theater but also an impassioned and tireless populariser of the style and language which have made Fo famous throughout the world and earned him the Nobel Prize for Literature.
Marco Luly is an Italian theatre specialist, particularly in the production of Commedia dell’Arte, Medieval theatre and of plays by the father of Italian Comedy, Carlo Goldoni. He has won distinctions for rediscovering medieval and Renaissance period manuscripts and scenarios, and adapting them in a modern style, and has won a string of awards such as best director and author, on several occasions, at Medieval and Renaissance Theatre Festivals.
