A CELEBRATION OF EUROPEAN ARTS & CULTURE!
The Society of Friends of Encore! is a non-profit organisation that aims to raise the profile and identity of European events, productions and artists in Singapore. Since its inception in 2008, Encore! Has supported and promoted an impressive line-up of European arts and cultural performances, all of which celebrate the diversity and vibrancy of the European Union’s member states, as well as Asia-Europe cross-cultural collaborations.
Encore!’s flagship bi-monthly publication, The European Season, features over 200 events each year from more than 50 presenters and venues and are distributed free of charge to over 150 locations island-wide. Spanning over a year from May to April, the publication features events in a diverse array of genres: from classical ballet to modern dance performances, literature festivals to fashion film screenings; there’s something for everyone. Bringing the best that Europe has to offer to a broader segment of the community in Singapore and developing new audiences.
We are grateful to the staunch support of our long-standing partners from the European Union Delegation to Singapore, as well as the Shaw, Tan Chin Tuan and Lee Foundations; and our corporate sponsors.
“TCTF is delighted to continue its support as a founding partner of ENCORE! This collaboration promotes Singapore-Europe relations, and makes European arts and culture accessible not just to art enthusiasts, but to a wider audience of young and old Singaporeans” He adds, “We will be inviting our charities to the events as well, as we believe that such opportunities can be an educational experience for them.”
– Mr CHEW Kwee San, Council Member of the Tan Chin Tuan Foundation (TCTF)
“I am particularly happy to invite you to discover the culture and arts of Europe through the numerous events organised with the help of Encore! Here in Singapore, in a truly cosmopolitan city that has warmly welcomed manifold expressions of cultures from all over the world.”
– Dr Michael Pulch, the European Union Ambassador to Singapore
